In January 2019, a total of 626 invites were issued to Express Entry Candidates seeking permanent residency in Manitoba. Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program offered by Manitoba and eighth other Canadian provinces allow participating provinces to nominate a fixed number of economic candidates to gain permanent residency every year.
Individuals offered invitations to participate in the first draw which is scheduled to take place in January 2019 include skilled workers in Manitoba and Candidates in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)’s Skilled Workers Overseas. Already, about 394 letters advising candidates to apply has been sent to skilled workers including some Express Entry candidates who have indicated interest by registering an Expression of interest profile with MPNP.
In addition, Candidates who are nominated by the province would receive an extra 60 points to boost their Express ranking score. Points are awarded to profiles based on several factors such as work experience in occupations that are in high demand in Manitoba, proficiency in French and English language and education in general.
To enter the pool which will be going down in January, all candidates are required to meet the requirement of having at least 6 months of work experience in fields which are considered to be in demand in Manitoba. Express Entry candidates are also required to register a separate Expression of Interest profile with the MPNP.
Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program offered by Manitoba provides faster routes to obtaining permanent residency for international graduates of Manitoba post-secondary institutions who possess the required skills to be employed in the province.
